Knowledge is Power-Student Reflection on the Professional Panel Discussion

After tonight’s professional panel discussion with three of the most diverse and successful group of men it is safe to say that the Indianapolis Study Away has already been a wonderful resource for our development into the sports world as young professionals and its only day two! Les Forsythe, Director of WKU Athletic Facilities and Event IMG_1162Management, Dr. Travis Teague, Dean of Sports Science at Wingate University, and Mark Williams, Director of Intermural Sports at University of Notre Dame, all gave great advice on how we can take advantage of the program that we are in as well as making ourselves available to any job that opens up in the sports field. Mark Williams made a statement that said “understand your place and what you have to offer” As a young professional I feel as though knowing who you are and what you want to do is key to being successful in the sports industry. Dr. Teague made a statement that went hand in hand with Mark Williams statement and it states: “All about you, do what you need to do to get it”. Hard work comes from passion so that includes doing your research and being over prepared as Les Forsythe stated. Thank you to these three great professionals for the great advice!
